just to complicate my life further, our DSL company has broken my Housemanticore email (That tied with the almost completely dead computer) means that I can receive emails but cannot respond. I have the resident IT guy on it , but the 2 problems are giving him a heck of a time (been working on it for a few days now).

So as a result, if you need to get in contact with me please use the webboard and Private message me. I can get to this thanks to the laptop, but thats pretty much it. I wanted to get this out there since I know the BBQ and things is coming up and people might actually need to talk to me.

I have been having the same issue with my HM email, so, it prob has nothing to do with your computer. I will be in contact with the hosting service to see what the issue is on monday and get this resolved.

If you are using Verizon, they are blocking all email going out port 25 or something. Cirion knows more, but we were notified by Verizon of the change and that it could break "Non-verizon emails"

And no, the computer is dying a very slow and painful death. The email thing is only one of the symptoms...

That was my problem as well... however, the HM email has another port that can be used to get email to work again: 366

You can get Cirion to get that adjusted for your email client.

Thanks Meph, worked like a charm. I was just about to ask if they had an alternate port. I wasn't real happy about being forced to verizon's mail servers.
